This three-session series will provide strategies to support instruction that promotes student ownership of their reading. Participants will explore methods for implementing successful student partnerships, reading notebooks, book clubs, monitoring of reading, and more!

Facilitator:

Sarah Lang is the K-8th Grade Curriculum Coordinator in the Oconomowoc Area School District. Previously, she has taught 5th grade, 6th grade, ELL, and served as a Reading Specialist. She facilitates literacy professional development for kindergarten through eighth grade staff in her district, as well as the surrounding area districts. With a love of learning, Sarah has served as a board member of the Waukesha County Reading Council and has attended many institutes in New York at Columbia Teachers College, such as Summer Reading and Writing Institutes and Coaching Institute. In her district, Sarah works closely with teachers, literacy coaches, and principals to support the implementation of literacy best practices in all classrooms.
